Lawrence Rook, Lic Ac. BSc (Hons), Dip Ch.
I am a fully qualified acupuncturist – I studied at the Northern College of Acupuncture (NCA) where I underwent 3 years of extensive training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Anatomy and Physiology and Western Medicine and gained an honours degree in Chinese Medicine. The past two years I have further developed my training in Kiiko Matsumotos’s Japanese Style of Acupuncture.
My interest in Acupuncture and Tui Na Massage began when I started training in the martial arts, Qi Gong, Tai Qi and the Chinese Classics. Chinese medicine theory runs through all the Daoist arts and is an integral part of this system.
Illness comes from two different sources: from outside of us and from within us. This includes physical injury, our environment and our emotional state. I believe it is important to consider physical symptoms, the energetic imbalance and the psychological state as part of a whole picture. I have found Japanese style acupuncture a very effective approach to treating patients in this way, searching for the root cause of disharmony at the same time as addressing present symptoms.
I have travelled to China and India for further studies, visiting Chinese Medicine hospitals and treating patients.
I use a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Japanese Acupuncture and Tuina massage to obtain long lasting results in a wide range of conditions.
Chirology is the study of the weight, shape, lines and dermatoglyphics of the hand. These areas reflect psychological, emotional, genetic and physical aspects of an individual.
I have studied hand analysis for over 10 years, focusing on emotional, psychological, health, business and self-development aspects shown in the hand. I offer individual, couple, family and group readings, depending on client requirements.
I studied under the well-known British Chirologist Johnny Fincham and have professionally read over 1,000 pairs of hands, working from Caversham Clinic in Reading and travelling across the UK to events, fairs and festivals.
The size and shape of the hand is determined largely by hormones, while the palmar lines are a result of the interaction between a persons brain and nervous system. The result is an incredibly unique and personal map of someone’s body and mind functions.
I am passionate about sharing the benefits that can be gained from a comprehensive hand reading, allowing people to gain an instant understanding about aspects of their personality. It can be incredibly liberating to see yourself in this way and to work with and understand your strengths and weaknesses.
